Beautiful light

Marjorie has conducted some great Q&As for the South Sydney Herald – the most recent with Christopher Bowen OAM, whose Redfern Oratorio means Paul Keating’s iconic “Redfern Speech” of 1992 is finding a fresh audience.

Others she grilled included Ben Bravery about his book The Patient Doctor; Sally Rippin who is equipping parents to get help for neurodivergent kids struggling to read; Dirk Kruithof whose solo exhibition LOCK’D was fun, grungy and confronting; and Bernadette Smith whose photographs capture an Aurora-like play of light in glass.

A Gratitude Report Marjorie produced prompted the CEO to send her a lovely message to say ‘Thank you from the heart’.

Marjorie also took photos and reported at a conference of academics involved in African-Australian research.

A 4WD trip with her niece to Francois Peron National Park in Western Australia in September/October was magical – such beautiful light.

Stephen’s series on urban birds for the South Sydney Herald has been fantastic. His interviews with jazz musos have been great too.

He is now working with Lifeline Macarthur and Western Sydney and has been on a trip to New Zealand''s South Island and some sub-Antarctic islands (photos here and here).
