Frequently asked questions

01

How quickly can you write my content?

Our turnaround time depends on the scope of the project but if we can’t work to your deadline we won’t take the job on. If you are in a hurry, contact us now.

02

What are your rates?

We work with clients who have varying communication needs, timeframes and budget constraints. Rates will be negotiated according to the work required and naturally will vary depending on the size of the project. For smaller jobs expect us to charge a minimum hourly rate.  For larger jobs we will provide you with a quote based on the agreed scope. Discounted rates may apply for regular work.

03

Why do I need to complete a client brief?

The client brief helps us determine your requirements and context — your brand, products/services, audience, deadlines, goals — and make sure we are right for your project. Many elements go into a writing project; some projects take more time and effort than others. There’s a big difference between writing media releases, web page content, brochures and regular blog posts.

04

What is the project brief?

On the basis of your client brief, we will provide you with a project brief, setting out what we will do and including a timeframe and estimated price for your project. The estimate will be based on how long the work will take, if it involves writing, rewriting, editing, proofreading or SEO, how complex or general the topic is, the nature of the target audience or market, how much research is needed, how many words or pages are needed, and the kind of support or input you will be able to provide. Once you agree that You Need A Writer and accept our quote, we will email you a standard Terms & Conditions document to protect both parties and prevent any misunderstandings.

05

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, a 50% deposit is required for all projects before work commences.

06

When is the balance due?

The balance must be paid within 15 days of receiving the final invoice. Payments can be made by bank transfer.

07
